Orbital Simulation

A real-time visualization of Saturnand its major moons. This interactive 3D model uses astronomical data for orbital distances, orbital periods, and inclinations. Each moon is tidally locked, always keeping one face pointed at Saturn, while Saturn itself rotates once every ~10.7 hours.

How to explore

  • Click Saturn or any moon to center the camera on it.
  • Click an orbit path to follow its associated moon.
  • Drag to rotate your view.
  • Scroll to zoom in/out.
  • Press F to toggle follow mode or Esc to cancel it.
  • Use the Time Scale slider (top left) to slow down or speed up the simulation. Higher values are closer to real-time.
Time Scale (bigger = slower): 31.6×
Tips: Click a moon/orbit/Saturn to follow. Press F to toggle follow, Esc to cancel.
